D’Key Civic is committed to creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment for everyone. We take the safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults seriously and follow best practice guidelines across all our programmes and community spaces.
Our Commitment
- We prioritise the wellbeing and safety of every person who interacts with our services.
- We follow recognised UK safeguarding standards and guidance.
- All volunteers and team members receive safeguarding awareness information.
- Appointees complete internal safeguarding induction (and periodic refreshers) as a minimum expectation before working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
- We maintain confidentiality and handle concerns sensitively.
- We work respectfully with partner agencies when concerns arise.
Appointee training: our safeguarding induction and minimum training modules are provided internally via the Staff Portal (login required). If you are an appointee and need access, email hello@dkeycivic.org.

Working With Young People
Our Youth & Skills Hub is run with care, responsibility and awareness. We aim to create a positive environment where young people can feel safe, supported and heard.
- Workshops and mentoring sessions are supervised by responsible adults.
- We maintain appropriate boundaries at all times.
- We encourage young people to speak up if something doesn’t feel right.
