Safeguarding & Wellbeing

A safer, clearer route for community activity.

D’Key Civic is committed to creating a safe, respectful and supportive environment for everyone who engages with our activities, events, programmes and communications.

Respect

Dignity and care

We aim to provide a welcoming environment where people are treated with dignity, respect and care.

Response

Recognise and escalate

We work to recognise, respond to and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately.

Records

Sensitive handling

We record concerns proportionately and handle information sensitively.

Commitment

Our safeguarding commitment

  • We use clear behavioural expectations for volunteers, appointees and programme leaders.
  • Appointees complete internal safeguarding induction before working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
  • Where appropriate, we work with parents, carers, venues, statutory services and partner organisations.

Important: D’Key Civic is a community initiative. We do not replace emergency services, social care or statutory safeguarding agencies.

Concern route

What to do if you have a concern

If you are worried about your safety, the safety of a child, a young person, or another adult, contact us as soon as possible so the concern can be reviewed.

Events and youth activity

How we approach events, volunteers and youth activity

Planning

We plan community activity with attention to venue suitability, supervision, consent and general safety.

Boundaries

We expect volunteers and appointees to maintain appropriate boundaries and respectful conduct.

Consent-aware media

Where photography or media capture is involved, we aim to use consent-aware processes appropriate to the event.
