Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the questions we get most often. If your question isn’t listed here, feel free to email us at hello@dkeycivic.org.

Do I need to prove anything to get help?

No. You don’t need to prove your situation, income, or circumstances. Just come as you are — we’re here to help, not judge.

Is everything really free?

Yes. All our meals, warm spaces, workshops and drop-ins are free. There are no hidden fees or requirements.

Who can come to your meals or warm spaces?

Anyone. Adults, families, young people — if you need a warm meal or a warm space, you’re welcome.

Do you provide food parcels?

We offer discreet collection of food parcels for individuals and families experiencing a difficult month.

Do I need to book in advance?

No booking needed. Just turn up during our open hours. Youth sessions may have limited spaces, but we’ll always try to accommodate you.

Can I volunteer if I’ve never done this before?

Absolutely. Most of our volunteers start with no experience. We’ll support you, guide you and help you feel confident.

Can schools or councils refer people to you?

Yes. We welcome referrals from schools, colleges, councils, social workers and community groups.

Can I donate food or resources?

Yes, we welcome donations of non-perishables, toiletries, warm clothing, and practical resources. Please email us first so we can coordinate drop-off.

What if I want to partner with D’Key Civic?

That’s wonderful — head to our Partners page or email us describing how you'd like to collaborate.
